Next Amnesia title teased, most likely set in China
Amnesia: The Dark Descent is without a doubt one of the most atmospheric survival horror games in recent years. With its immense critical and commercial success, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that a sequel is in the works.
Developer Fractional Games has just launched a brand new teaser site that tells us that “Something is Emerging”, and fans will be pleased to hear that it is in fact a new Amnesia title. If clicked on, the site transports the user to a Google Map overview of China which is quite possibly the setting of the sequel.
Rock Paper Shotgun delved deeper into the matter and managed to confirm that the site is registered to Frictional Games with the following tags: “3D game, Frictional Games, advanced physics, survival horror, action adventure, firstperson, horror, scary, HPL, work in progress, upcoming game, next frictional game, game development.”
A quick look at the source code ( Hit ctrl+u) reveals a message from the developers:
“Welcome to the next Frictional game site, a site with information about our game projects in development. We use this site to post content about a project in development, during the period it does not have a final name decided.”
We all know that it’s coming and it’s just a matter of time. We’ll update you as soon as we get to know more about the project. But just the thought of an Amnesia title set in China sends shivers up our spines.
